Why is nutrition important to consider?

A growing body of research is suggesting that western style dietary habits and inadequate nutrition can and does affect mental health. We now know that poor nutrition can be associated with an increase incidence of ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Diet and nutrition impact cognition, attention, sleep, and mood.

“Studies have compared "traditional" diets, like the Mediterranean and the traditional Japanese diet, to a typical "Western" diet and have shown that the risk of depression is 25% to 35% lower in those who eat a traditional diet.”
